The man behind Mega Man has launched a Kickstarter project in an effort to raise funds for his upcoming game. Keiji Inafune seeks around $900,000 to develop the Mighty No. 9. If the funding is raised within the next 30 days, it will launch on PCs in 2015. The game will be released through Steam and other digital distribution methods available.
If the project is mighty successful, a Mac and Linux versions will also be developed. If the project is super mighty succesful, the game will also be developed for consoles.
The Mighty No. 9 is all about a robot named Beck. He is the 9th robot in the “Mighty Number” series of robots. The other eight of his kind has gone berserk because of a virus. It is now up to Beck to stop them. If Beck defeats a Mighty Number, he gets a new power. Other than that, the main character can transform his limbs into tools to defeat enemies and explore the environment.
It sounds and looks Mega Man-ish, I tell you. But it the project is certainly looking awesome.
