While console versions of Diablo III has offline play, the PC version will never get one. This is what Blizzard wants for the PC – let players feel that they are part of a bigger Diablo III community.
For Blizzard, Diablo is best played with other people. In the PC, the social environment is bigger, the item trading is also bigger. This connected experience is what works best in Diablo, that’s why online play will always be there and there will be no offline in the PC version.
Well, for the most part, I have played Diablo II myself for a whooping 10 years and enjoyed the Xbox 360 version more than the PC version of Diablo III. This matter of offline vs online in Diablo III is an ongoing debate amongst gamers and even industry analysts alike.
